..weight loss, 12 weeks in.
WEIGHT LOST SO FAR: 2 Stone 5.5
WEEKS ATTENDING SLIMMING WORLD: 12
WEIGHT I WOULD STILL LIKE TO LOSE: 2 STONE 8.5
I would really love to hear from anyone else who is also following a diet club plan, and your thoughts on wether you are finding this weekly expense to be helpful?
When I walked into my local Slimming World in January this year, I was very optimistic that I would stick at it, although I have been "bigger" for most of my late teens/early 20s, its never really been a problem for me.
I still socialise alot, wear nice clothes, have relationships and lots of friends etc.
But something inside me KNEW that this time, this diet, this "me" would be different, and i would see it through.
Maybe because I am 25 this year, I kind of feel like I need to do something about my weight problem now before i wake up 30..40 etc.
Week one, amazing... 12lb loss.
From then, i was hooked... that was it, nearly a stone in a week? WOW... I HAD TO stick with it.
Since then my weight loss has fluctuated from really good, to not so good weeks. But mainly all losses, and any of my gains have only been half a pound or so.
I am enjoying the social side of Slimming world, especially staying to the classes... the first few weeks you do feel like a newbie, but I can guarantee you will pal up with someone in the end, and now im Facebook friends with alot of my SW group buddies and we regularly speak inbetween weigh-ins to spur each other on.
So far I havent done any excercise, apart from walking the dog every other day. But this week I have my first gym induction, I hope that by trying to go daily will keep my weigh loss at a constant, or at least make me see some sort of difference in my body shape, which I havent seen up until now.
I know im going to get embarassingly hot and sweaty within 5mins of gym action, but I have such a strong mind-set to lose weight at the moment that I know its a necessary evil.
I dont know if anyones going to read any of my posts, but I thought I would just put this out there into the world (wide web) and you never know, maybe someone will find it of some interest :)
Beauty Bits for Sale...
I have some bits for sale on ebay, mainly beauty items if there are any professionals out there who would like to bid, beauty box, acrylic nail kit, spray tan tent etc.
Please take a look :)
Also i will soon be starting up my weekly weight management blogs, I have currently lost 2 stone 6 by following the Slimming World plan, I would like to share my on going experiences, aswell as hearing from others.
This will still be combined with hair, beauty and fashion tips etc

Too Hold to Hold em pink - Hott Matt Pink colour from OPIs brand new "texas" range. Needs at least 3 coats to get a good colour pay off but worth the work :)
Teenage Dreams - Gorgeous Pink filled with silver and rainbow glitter from Katy Perrys range for OPI. Two coats gives you a lovely shimmer.. maybe try it over the top of one coat of pale pink so the shimmer can really shine through!
The Show Must Go On - Brought to you from OPIs Burlesque collection, one of my fav polishes of all time! Pink colour packed full of FIREY orange and pink shimmer. Beautiful Polish.
Truffle - by Sleek NAILED polishes, be bang on trend with this gold infused bronze. Goes on great and can be worn even with one coat.
Punki Pink - by ninapro, will look great when the summer comes against a tan! this is an EXTREMLEY hot pink so wear if you dare!!
Dutch Tulips - one of OPIs classic colours, this is definately my "go to" red. Its more of a creamy pinkish toned red then a pillarbox one, looks beautiful after two coats.

Beauty Professionals discount haul...
This may not interest anyone who is not a hair or beauty professional, but i thought i would highlight a few great deals i got today in Salon Services (previously sallys).
It seems they are discontinuing "Beauty Secrets" Nail brushes, i bought two today... the "Large Oval Flat Taper" no22 and 100% sable was just £3.49, previously £8.99 and the "Flat Sculpt" no6 and made from red sable was only £1.99 from £4.99. I have always loved working with these brushes for acrylic nails, no22 is great for experienced nail technicians who can use the "one bulb/ball" method of acrylic. The no6 is great to use around the nail bed and cuticle, to ensure you dont touch the skin.. also if your client has tiny nails!

They are discontinuing the "Mercia" nail range, so nearly all of the items are half price or better still.
Today i picked up the "Nail Blender" which is used to soften the acrylic tip when applied, less filing needed thank god!
This was just £1.15, previously £3.99
I also picked up one of the large 360 size box of "white" nail tips.
Very footballers wifes, but means you can apply any nail colour while you have your nail tips on, and when you remove the polish you will still be left with lovely pure white tips underneath.
The box was JUST £5.62, previously £16.99... a really brilliant saving.
Finally, salon services are biddng farewell to Clairol... i think it may be just the tube colour and not all of the styling products, though i am not 100% sure. I picked up three of them, all 2P (blue black) which is the colour i use.
These tubes were previously £4.69 so all hairdressers should rush out to get some, as they are now only 99p!!!
If you are starting out as a mobile hairdresser, you can get yourself a great kit full of colours, and they are also selling off the shade charts.
The higher profit, without having to raise our prices to the client, the better.
So these are a fantastic bargain!!
Hope i did not bore anyone too much, as i said at the start... just thought professionals would find this slightly interesting!
Go have a route around in your salon services/sallys store and let me know what bargains you find!
LUSH makeup giveaway...
Just to let you all know, this weeks MORE magazine (Uk only?) has a voucher in for a FREE makeup "colour correcting" product from Lush.
Its a cut out and take into store voucher, really good deal as ita worth £7.50 and its a brand new product!

Sleek polishes didnt quite "nail" it for me...
Sleeks NAILED polishes caught my eye in superdrugs as they are 10.5g in size, only £3 and come in a huge range of colours.
So without even trying one first i snapped up "pastel pink" - the one i have pictured, "florida" - a bright orange, "bare" - a nude and "truffle" - a bronzey gold. Unfortunately i wasnt very impressed at all !!! just another sad case of cheap nail varnish looking just that, cheap! Thick and 'glooopey' is the best way to describe them. They take forever to dry and when they do they are streaky and extremley patchy.
Sleek website describes them as "quick drying.. long lasting.. instant full coverage with one stroke and silky smooth". I found them to be none of the above.
Is this just me? Has anyone else experienced this with the sleek nailed range?
I used a base coat, did not get to the top coat stage as i removed the polish asap when it dried!!
